My name is Safi Marroun. I’m an engineer, entrepreneur, and creative thinker based between Riyadh and Dubai. I’m passionate about bridging innovation, sustainability, and art to create meaningful impact in the world. Let’s do wonders, together.

I’m available here for consulting engagements.

I’m based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, but most likely in a signal-free natural space right now.

After graduating in 2014 with a degree in civil engineering from California, I spent several years working as a site engineer in Saudi Arabia. By early 2018, I couldn’t resist the urge to build a skate community around me and founded LocoSonix. Over time, I became more fascinated with the blend of sports, arts, nature and engineering opening up many adventures along the way.

Professional Background

With a strong foundation in engineering, I’ve worked on diverse projects that merge technology and sustainability. My curiosity for nature and systems thinking led me to explore biomimicry, applying nature-inspired strategies to solve complex human challenges.

Entrepreneurship

As the founder of LocoSonix, I’ve cultivated a community of skaters, creatives, and artists, providing them with a platform to express themselves and grow. My recent projects include creating skate-inspired art exhibits and empowering local talent through workshops and representation (LocoSonix XPs & LocoSonix Talents).

Personal Passions:

I thrive on exploring intersections—between art and technology, design and nature; creativity and functionality. I’m fluent in Arabic, English, Spanish, which fuels my love for connecting across cultures. When I’m not working, I’m learning guitar, refining my filmmaking & photography skills, or writing about the deeper aspects of life.

Today, I consult for businesses and organizations on sustainability, biomimicry, and creative strategies, while also mentoring talents through my agency, LocoSonix. I’m actively involved in shaping the future of sports and e-commerce in Saudi Arabia, creating initiatives that merge creativity, culture, and community. As a frequent speaker at events and workshops, I share insights on engineering innovation, skate culture, and the intersection of art and technology.

longboard, jumping up to let go down

This is from my favorite photo capturing a moment for my philosopher in life that “we got to have the courage to jump as high as we can; and learn to let go falling steadily on a board in motion” Let’s skate and learn to balance our lives in motion.
